Though the Wachowski siblings are perhaps best known for their Matrix movies (one good; two bad), they actually started their careers with the criminally under-seen erotic thriller Bound, which stars Jennifer Tilly, Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano (who worked with them again playing Cypher in the original Matrix film, remember?). It's often thought of as a neo-noir thriller, though it has enough eroticism to justify its categorisation as an erotic thriller. It's a violent, funny and truly original film, featuring a plot about two lesbians who attempt to steal $2 from a violent criminal. Rather interestingly, the sex scenes in the movie - and there are plenty - were choreographed by a "sex educator" named Susie Bright in order to bring a realness to the interplay between the characters. It worked: Bound features some of the steamiest and downright believable sex scenes ever depicted in a mainstream flick.
