9. The Minions Kill Iconic Supervillains - Minions
The Moment: The prologue of the upcoming Minions spin-off movie will explain the peculiar pellet-sized creatures' origins, as they attempted to serve under famous monstrous characters such as a T. Rex, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, and Dracula, but humorously foiled each in a number of barmy ways, be it shooting Napoleon with his own cannon or accidentally exposing Dracula to sunlight on his birthday. Why It Will Define 2015: Because the Minions are already the most popular and hilarious aspect of the Despicable Me movies, and with their own movie, they're likely to prove just how absurdly appealing they are. Expect merchandising sales of all sorts (lunchboxes, cuddly toys, and video games) to go through the roof as Minions become the must-have item for kids in 2015. With no direct competition from Disney or Pixar right now (though Frozen is still undeniably a commercial juggernaut), expect Minions to expand their market share.
