Potter Actors Featured: Gary Oldman, Ciarin Hinds, Toby Jones

Tomas Alfredson's take on John le Carre's 1974 novel of the same name, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a Cold War thriller set in London in the early 1970s and follows George Smiley (Gary Oldman) as he is forced to put his semi-retirement on hold to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6.

Of course, Oldman portrayed Harry's godfather Sirius Black in the Potter movies, from his eerie appearance in The Prisoner of Azkaban to his heroic death in The Order of the Phoenix. His performance here is certainly less flamboyant, though he brings Smiley to life with the subtle charisma he has perfected over a long and successful career.

Ciarin Hinds (Albus Dumbledore's goat loving brother Aberforth) and Toby Jones (the unmistakable voice of Dobby) were cast as the "Soldier" and "Tinker" referred to in the title, and both actors make themselves very much at home in this paranoia-laden tale of espionage.
