20 Films To Watch If You Love Halloween But Hate Horror
16. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Here’s that movie which you can watch anytime between the 1st of October and the 25th of December. Actually, The Nightmare Before Christmas is so awesome that it can frankly be viewed at any time of the year.
The genius crossover of two holidays starts when Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is tired of the usual routine every year and wants something new. Amongst his findings, he discovers Christmas Town, where the atmosphere and feeling is wonderfully different. Swept away by the concept of Christmas, he tries to bring back the festivities to Halloween Town. But can the two really mix?
This is an animated film that showcases all the best aspects of Tim Burton’s idiosyncratic styles (you’ll be seeing a lot more of his works on this list) as frame by frame, we are given a rich tapestry of unique creations and expressive characters, not to mention a magical Danny Elfman score to enhance the whimsical world building within The Nightmare Before Christmas.
