20 Ghostbusters Easter Eggs You Never Noticed

14. The Ecto-1 Really Did Break Down

The Ghostbusters' sweet ride is an Easter egg creation machine and all. The black model Cadillac that Ray brings to the firehouse, all busted up and in need of some TLC, was originally meant to retain its ghoulish, hearse-like colour scheme, until the production realised that a white vehicle would show up way better during all of the night time shoots. Not that you would've noticed that in the films themselves. What you might have noticed is that it's the same car in the second film, albeit with a makeover, which makes the scene at the start of Ghostbusters II €“ where it's coughing and spluttering €“ all the more poignant. Oh, and when they were filming that bit on the bridge, it actually did break down.
