20 Greatest Horror Movie Endings Of All Time

10. The Thing (1982)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA4Ozqt7338 The Movie: John Carpenter finally intersected with his longtime idol Howard Hawks when he remade the director€™s 1951 sci-fi classic The Thing From Another World as The Thing, an altogether different beast that hedged closer to the original John W. Campbell short story. The film, of course, followed a crew of researchers trapped inside an Antarctic research station as a shape-shifting creature picks them off one by one. The Ending: MacReady (Kurt Russell) is seemingly the sole survivor, having destroyed the entire base to ensure the creature's destruction. But as he sits among the ruins, Childs (Keith David), another survivor who was presumed dead, emerges alive and well. And is quite possibly infected. Instead of fighting, the two simply discuss their next move. "Why don't we wait here," says MacReady, "see what happens." In comes the bottle of scotch. After all, there is no hope. Carpenter has stated that he would have liked to make a sequel that followed on from this ending, but the film€™s lack of box office success prevented it, sadly.
