15. The Seasonal Transitions - Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban

It's arguable that the single biggest problem with the Harry Potter films is their rather poor editing. All eight of the movies suffered from pacing issues due to them being based on books which not only have an awful lot of content in them, but cover an entire academic year. This is one of the many reasons why a TV series adaptation would've been better in hindsight (that'll probably eventually happen though).

Still, Prisoner of Azkaban was better in this regard and director Alfonso Cuaron was very clever with the editing. He used many visually stunning shots of the Hogwarts grounds to show the seasons changing and time passing, which was not only beautiful to look at but helped the film to flow a lot better than the others did. These transition shots might be small parts of the film to some extent, but they really leap out as one of third film's largest assets.

A shout-out to Order of the Phoenix is also in order, for that film came up with some effective editing techniques too; it shows editions of the Daily Prophet in order to convey exposition and show time passing.
