James Bond was always going to make it onto this list, and as much as we love the likes of 2012’s bonkers Skyfall, the best offering from MI5’s finest has to be this 2006 effort from Goldeneye director Martin Campbell.

Reimagining the suave super spy as a bulkier bruiser, perfect for a post 9/11 and post-Bourne cineplex, this flick utilized Daniel Craig’s not inconsiderable charm in its simple origin story for the world’s favourite secret agent.

The action was brutal and endlessly impressive, particularly an early Parkour chase, and the darker, more mature turn for the franchise was held together by some superb supporting turns from Eva Green and Madds Mikkelsen.
