The third instalment in Romero's original Dead trilogy, Day Of The Dead, is quite often overlooked, or, even worse, frowned upon by critics. One frequent complaint is that the script, about nihilistic Army men and idealistic scientists living in an underground bunker to avoid becoming zombie food, is too preachy - but any fan of this underrated classic can easily look beyond any of those minor grievances.
The Opening Scene: This one earns a spot on the list thanks to a single, perfectly-timed jump scare that's bound to catch you off guard no matter how many times you've seen it. The film then gives a brief view of a world dominated by the undead. And it's not a pretty sight.
