20 Greatest Spaceships Ever To Appear On Screen

12. Red Dwarf

Appears in: Red Dwarf The Jupiter Mining Corporation€™s ship Red Dwarf is an aging and malfunctioning craft that is home to the last surviving human being in existence. While Dave Lister was in suspended animation all the crew were killed by a radiation leak. By the time the radiation level was safe for Lister 3 million years had passed, making it possibly the oldest working ship on this list. Controlled by an increasingly senile computer Red Dwarf has certainly seen better days. Over the course of its history it has been stolen by replicants, destroyed and then rebuilt by nanobots. But it keeps soldiering on, proving how tough the Jupiter Mining Corporation make their ships.

11. Andromeda Ascendant

Appears in: Gene Roddenberry€™s Andromeda The ship and its captain were frozen for hundreds of years after being trapped in the event horizon of a black hole. During that time his civilization had fell and left the universe in a state of regression. As it was built by the Systems Commonwealth at the height of its technological power the ship itself is highly advanced. It is capable of firing over 19,000 missiles a minute, enough to destroy a planet. Its defences are state of the art making its hull near impregnable for most conventional weapons. Due to its power and the fact it is one of the only survivors of the once great Systems Commonwealth have elevated the ship to near mythic fame.
