20 Greatest Video Game Movie Moments EVER

15. The Executioner Fight - Resident Evil: Afterlife

Mortal Kombat
Screen Gems

Resident Evil: Afterlife isn't one of the better entries into Paul W.S. Anderson's franchise, but it does get brownie points for offering up one of the series' most memorable action sequences, and one that paid quite brilliant homage to the fifth game.

Just a year after Resident Evil 5 introduced players to the Executioner Majini, the monstrous, axe-wielding antagonist showed up in Afterlife to do battle with Alice (Milla Jovovich) and Claire Redfield (Ali Larter).

The scene takes place in a prison shower block, with the Executioner swinging his axe at Alice and Claire and in turn quickly causing the area to flood with water.

Almost the entire scene is shot in insane slow-motion and set to outrageous techno music, and it's tough to deny just how freakin' cool it all is. The Executioner looks just like he does in Resident Evil 5, and puts up a mighty fight until Alice takes him down with a shotgun blast to the head.
