6. Jimmy Gardner - Ernie Prang

He might not have said a great deal, but Jimmy Gardner will forever be remembered by Harry Potter fans as the idiosyncratic driver of The Knight Bus, Ernie Prang, who "drives" with the assistance of Lenny Henry's shrunken head. With his white Flock Of Seagulls hair and goggle-like glasses, he looked like he was made for this universe.

Gardner was another Potter alumnus who had appeared in Doctor Who, and his most notable credits included The Adventures Of Young Indiana Jones, Finding Neverland and a couple of British soaps. He also appeared in a supporting role opposite Kevin Costner in Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves and clocked up more than 100 film and television productions.

He passed away at the age of 85 on 3rd May 2010.
