20 Hidden Facts That Prove Man Of Steel Is The Most Trivia Filled Film Of 2013

9. Don€™t You Hate Sport Team Rebrands

3 Although he initially broke on to the scene with the Dawn Of The Dead remake, Snyder didn't really make his name until two years later with 300. He gave that film a noticeable nod in the opening of Watchmen, but the two following (the perplexing duo of Sucker Punch and Legend Of The Guardians) ignored it. Although it may be slight, Snyder€™s blood-soaked actioner gets a reference in Man Of Steel. During the Smallville set battle, a logo cheering on the Smallville Spartans, the high school€™s football team, can be glimpsed in a window. What makes it clear this is Snyder mentioning his own work is the change; in all previous incarnations of Smallville, the team€™s been known as The Crows. Spartans are an all in all much cooler team to get behind, so I'm very happy to welcome this (very minor) change.

8. What The Hell Is Autumn Frost

Frost2 Crop Since Return Of The Jedi with Blue Harvest, people are well aware of highly anticipated films going under odd fake names during production and it€™s also increasingly common to have them shipped to cinemas under a fake name to keep cheeky film fans from getting a sneak peek. Of course, unless you were paparazzi on set or a cinema worker upon release, there€™s little chance you€™ll have noticed these real world jokes, but that doesn€™t make them any less awesome. Man Of Steel worked it's way through production (from the casting call above through to it's shipping to cinemas) as Autumn Frost. Quite why I have no idea; I mean, some of the film seems to be set in the fall and some of it€™s in the arctic, but that's pretty tenuous. After The Wolverine coming as Clippers this is cool, if nonsensical.
