Cult director Ti West (The Innkeepers, The Sacrament) delivered one of the best ‘70s-era horror throwbacks of recent times with this story of a college girl (Jocelin Donahue) who takes on a late-night babysitting job at a remote house owned by a mysterious stranger (Tom Noonan).

At first everything seems to be going as normal but she soon realises her new employer may be harbouring a sinister secret.

Strong shades of Rosemary’s Baby, The Amityville Horror and The Shining are evident in a horror that really takes its time with a slower-than-usual pace… until it hits you with a shocking third act that feels like a bloody sledgehammer to the face.
