20 Highest Grossing Movies of 2014 - Ranked From Worst To Best
9. Big Hero 6
Walt Disney Animation kept up their recent streak of critical and commercial successes with Big Hero 6, which also marked the first time that the studio had adapted a Marvel property since the Mouse House paid over $4bn for the company in 2009. The end result turned out to be one of the most entertaining animated movies of the year, with the scene-stealing robot Baymax also providing one of 2014's most memorable characters. Armed with a simple story about a young inventor's bond with his creations, Big Hero 6 overcomes a relatively formulaic narrative thanks to the richly designed environments of San Fransokyo giving the movie a unique setting, with directors Don Hall and Chris Williams balancing action and excitement with plenty of heart. Based on the quality of Big Hero 6, its surely only a matter of time before more Marvel comic characters make their way to the big screen in animated form.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
