Chart Position: 4th Worldwide Gross: $1,405,035,767 Sitting just behind its predecessor, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, is Marvels second biggest film ever, and it finished the year in fourth position on the worldwide chart. The film, to my mind a definite step-down from the first Avengers movie, nevertheless delivered on what fans of the franchise wanted (for the most part), introducing new characters and nicely setting up Avengers: Infinity War Part I (due 2018), which will surely smash box office records in the same manner. Anyone who follows my work on here will know Im not the biggest comic-book movie fan, and it remains far from my area of expertise. Still, I found much to enjoy in Age Of Ultron, and though its overlong and overwrought and with one set piece too many, it remains a thoroughly entertaining blockbuster, one which benefits from director Joss Whedons facile eye and a game cast clearly having a time of it. The sight of all the Avengers holed up in a falling ruin as they face bombardment from every possible direction is the undoubted highlight.
