18. The Boss Baby

Box Office: $498.9 million (#18)

Audiences sure did enjoy DreamWorks' animated smash hit about a suited-and-booted baby voiced by Alec Baldwin, and while utterly harmless, there's just very little here that makes the satirical most of its intriguingly daft premise.

Baldwin gives a better voice performance than the material deserves, but the film too often settles for crude toilet humour and low-effort gags, wrapped around a weirdly involved narrative that ultimately gives way to unearned sentimentality.

It's totally watchable and will keep the kids busy for 90 minutes, but this premise had the potential to be so much smarter and funnier. Expect a sequel on the way ASAP.
