20 Horror Films That Will Chill You To The Bone In 2015
17. Angelica
You may recall a horror film from 2007 by the name of Teeth, about a teenage girl coping with the discovery that shes been afflicted with the fabled vagina dentata (or an extra set of teeth in an extremely unexpected place). The director of that film, Mitchell Lichtenstein, has returned with a very different kind of horror story. This one looks way more atmospheric, but still appears to deal with sexual and gender politics, much like the director's previous work. The film also marks the first time Lichtenstein has adapted a book, Arthur Phillipss novel of the same name, and it centers on Jena Malones Constance, who, in 1880s London, must practice sexual abstinence because of the erroneous medical advice of the era. As one expects in a Lichtenstein film, things don't go so well, as Constance ultimately becomes haunted by spirits. From the looks of it, Angelica leaves the subversive humour of Teeth behind for a good old-fashioned haunting.
