20 Horror Movies That Made You Root For The Wrong Person

Inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Robert Rodriguez's teen horror The Faculty follows a group of high-schoolers who band together when they discover their teachers are being mind-controlled by alien parasites.

Even though the ensemble has its fair share of flaws, you grow to like each of them in their own way, especially the transfer student, Marybeth. She seems so genuinely loving and caring, it'd be a shame to learn her whole demeanour was an act.

That's why it's reassuring when Marybeth seemingly proves she can't be an alien. When Zeke discovers the creatures crave water, he urges everyone in his friend circle to snort a diuretic. Marybeth performs the act with no incident, supposedly demonstrating that she's legit, which makes it all the more shocking when Marybeth later admits she's the Alien Queen, meaning the hostile takeover of Earth was her idea, and she intends to enslave humanity.

When Marybeth divulges her true intentions, she speaks as if she believes her plan will be in mankind's best interests. This is why it was so easy for her to convince everyone she means them no harm, making her betrayal all the more horrifying.
