20 Hottest Stephen King Adaptations Currently In Development
13. The Breathing Method
Status: Announced
Release: 2020?
This one's been in gestation for some time now - possibly because supposedly attached-director Scott Derrickson got a lot more busy after it was announced in 2012 than might have been anticipated - and it definitely sounds like one of the stranger ones in production.
The novella, which was collected with three other stories originally, tells the ludicrous tale of a woman who is pregnant and develops a new breathing technique in preparation for the birth only to be behaded in a road accident. But wouldn't you know it, she manages to continue breathing until her baby is born. Yes, it's literally almost the same as that urban legend about chickens.
Whether it gets off the ground or not remains to be seen but it does tentatively have a 2020 date right now.
