The Role: Poulter plays one of Hugh Glass' (Leonardo DiCaprio) turncoat traveling companions, who robs Glass and leaves him to die, but then incurs his wrath as Glass ventures out on a violent revenge spree. Why It's Unexpected: Young British actor Poulter scored his big Hollywood break with 2013's We're the Millers and followed it up by winning a major role in The Maze Runner, but did anyone expect to see him make the leap to a potential Best Picture winner so fast? It's awesome, and considering he only has about a dozen roles in his filmography, it's pretty impressive stuff. He must have one hell of an agent, that's for sure. Will It Work?: No question. He's a talented young actor and with so many excellent performers working around him (including Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleeson in addition to DiCaprio), not to mention Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman) directing, he pretty much can't go wrong.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
