20 Most Iconic Gangster Movie Moments

10. Revenge - King Of New York (1990)

New York Kingpin Frank White (Walken) is released from a long stint in prison. Keen to get back on top and wipe out his competition, Frank is hell-bent on using profits from organised crime to aid the poor and lower classes of New York. In this odd take on the fabled Robin Hood story, it is the cops who end up looking like the bad guys. Iconic Moment: After an ongoing war between cops and Gangsters comes to a rather messy head when Jimmy Jump (Larry Fishburne) guns down bent cop Thomas Flanigan, only to then be shot in the head by the equally corrupted Dennis Gilley, our main man Frank decides good old fashioned revenge is required at all costs. Frank tracks Gilley (David Caruso - before he made a career out of slowly putting on sunglasses) and then proceeds to blow his head blown apart from a single shotgun blast as he attends Flanigan's funeral.
