20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In The X-Men Franchise

20. Sabertooth Nearly Kills Rogue In His Attempts To Kidnap Her - X-Men

X-Men Sabertooth
20th Century Fox

Imagine that you've been assigned to kidnap somebody - somebody incredibly important whose survival is absolutely necessary in order for you to complete your master plan, which - coincidentally - you've been working on for years. You'd want to ensure that you were super careful in getting said person to the right place in one piece, which means that you wouldn't want to damage or hurt or risk their death during the kidnapping process.

Unless your name happens to be Sabertooth.

During the openingof X-Men, then, Wolverine and Rogue are driving through a wintery terrain, only to be attacked by Sabertooth, who - at the command of Magneto - is out to kidnap Rogue. But in his attempts to do so, he risks killing her by sending their vehicle off-road by throwing a huge branch in front of it; an act which would have resulted in Wolverine's death had he lacked those iconic healing powers. Why take such a risky approach to the capture? What if Rogue hadn't been wearing a seat belt?

It's just damn luck that she survived; chances are that Sabertooth could have killed her during his attack, which was - for all intents and purposes - stupidly executed.
