20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In The X-Men Franchise

14. Rogue Actually Decides To Join The X-Men - X2

20th Century Fox

Think about this for a second and try to get your head around it.

Rogue, whose only power consists of hi-jacking other mutant's powers (and in doing so, she risks killing them), joins the X-Men and becomes an actual member of the crime-fightin' superhero squad. Why? As previously stated, she serves absolutely no purpose as a member of the team. She's welcome to hang around and be friends and study at the Academy (no problem, Rogue), but what use does she have as a part of the X-Men?

None. Not only does she endanger he own life, but she endangers the lives of those around her when she gets involved. Okay, so in the comic book canon there's a lot more development of Rogue and her place as an X-Men member - that's fine; here in the movie universe, though, she lacks any true reason to be involved - her decision to stay on as a member of the team after the events of the first movie feels like a noticeably silly one.
