20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In The Dark Knight Saga

16. Bruce Wayne Boards Ra's Al Ghul's Train When He Should Have Done Gordon's Job Instead - Batman Begins

At the climax of the movie, having escaped with his life thanks to Alfred and a golf club, Bruce makes his way into downtown Gotham so he can stop Ra's al Ghul, who has boarded a monorail and is using it to unleash a poisonous toxin across the city, thus reducing it to anarchy. Briefly, Bruce comes into contact with Sergeant Gordon, who he instructs to take over the Batmobile - an insanely complicated vehicle which Gordon has never driven before - and blow out the monorail supports so that it can't reach Wayne Tower and Ra's' plan is stopped. Meanwhile, Batman will board the train and face off against Ras himself. A good plan, right? Well, no, not a good plan at all, actually; even though it somehow ends up working, it's overly complicated and convoluted. After all, why didn't Bruce just drive the Batmobile and blow out the monorail supports himself? Unlike Gordon, he knows how to use the Batmobile, and would have had no trouble completing the task. In turn, he would have stopped Ra's and probably killed him, too... all without even having to board the train, or risk Gordon screwing things up.
