After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, A Quiet Place Part II finally hit cinemas on May 28 of last year, yet the film was in the unique position of having had its world premiere almost an entire 15 months earlier.

Indeed, the horror sequel premiered in New York City on March 8, 2020 with an intended wide release just 12 days later, but on March 12, Paramount made the decision to delay the film indefinitely as the global pandemic took hold.

While many films have been delayed numerous times over the last two years, this was a special case given that A Quiet Place Part II had already premiered and was barely a week away from releasing when it was pushed.

Hundreds of critics had already seen the film at its premiere and had to sit on their reviews for well over a year, while cinemas had to provide refunds for enthusiastic customers who had already pre-ordered their tickets.

The wait certainly didn't dampen any enthusiasm, though, as the film went on to gross an impressive $297.4 million worldwide when it finally released.
