20 Incredible Movies You Must Watch As A Double Bill

6. Night Of The Living Dead/ The Evil Dead

night of the living dead Back to darker territory. While both of these films feature some form of evil presence form beyond the grave they offer two very interesting takes on the subject. Night of the Living Dead is the archetype for the modern zombie movie but really it's much more than that. George A. Romero accidentally made quite a profound social statement with a film that was considered filth and relegated to the grindhouse theaters upon first release. The Evil Dead doesn't carry any of the political undertones but it does offer the evolution of extreme gore and violence that Night of the Living Dead started 20 years prior. These films can be enjoyed as two examples of classic horror movies but also as two milestones in independent cinema.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
