20 More Incredibly Satisfying Moments In Movie History

18. Russian Roulette Revenge - The Deer Hunter

After a long, drawn out opening, in which Michael Cimino paints a picture of small town working class life hit by the impending dread of a war nobody wanted, our heroes are all of a sudden thrown abruptly into a POW camp in Vietnam and forced to play a deadly game of Russian Roulette against each other. All the while the Vietcong who surround them laugh as they make bets on the game of deadly chance: a one in six chance that the pull of a trigger could be the last thing they do. After some quick reflexes and a blink and you'll miss it shoot out, our heroes are free from their captors and the deadliest game of chance. Despite this moment, the horror for the Veterans has only just begun as the film goes on to display the true horror of war in a both physical and mental capacity.

17. Killing Barnes - Platoon

It is a rare case in a film where the pay-off at the end is closely matched by the complete injustice that goes before it, but as Platoon builds anger as you watch good guy Elias (Willem Dafoe) get shot to pieces, you would be forgiven for thinking that the injustice will probably go unserved . In the odd stillness of early morning that follows the intensity of a night time battle, Charlie Sheen gets some one on one time with twisted Sgt. Barnes (Tom Berenger); the man responsible for the death of his mentor and friend, Elias. After a long silent stare and an ever arrogant Barnes asking Sheen to get him a medic, Sheen fires a few rounds across his chest to give us the kill we all deserved.
