Ballard's novel, High-Rise. The film, Wheatley's fifth feature, stars Tom Hiddleston and Sienna Miller in the tale of a class war which breaks out in a luxury complex isolated from the rest of society. Reviews from Toronto, where the film has its world premiere back in September, were generally positive, with many noting that High-Rise is far and away Wheatley's most elaborate, expensive, ultimately ambitious project to date. Sure to be helped immeasurably by the reliable presence of thesp Tom Hiddleston (a Benedict Cumberpatch without the fanfare), High-Rise looks set to continue Wheatley's tradition of delivering pitch-black comedy against a backdrop of social unease, and in Ballard (Crash, Cocaine Nights) he has the ideal source material to do so.
