18. "If You Can Take It, You Can Make It" - Unbroken
Inspirational dramas have a history of coming up with uplifting quotes to win over audiences: just look at The Shawshank Redemption's "Get busy living, or get busy dying." Though Angelina Jolie's prestige drama doesn't live up to the excellence of Frank Darabont's movie, it certainly has a fair go of it, pre-packaging Louie Zamperini's (Jack O'Connell) life story with the line, "If you can take it, you can make it." The line is originally said to Louie by his older brother Pete (Alex Russell) early on in the movie, though reoccurs later on and will no doubt be rattling around the heads of viewers throughout the movie. It's a simple quote but one that effectively reflects the movie's message of perseverance against adversity and the will to survive.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
