6. "Like Watching His Favourite Pub Burn Down" - Bridget Jones's Baby
Just as Bridget (Renee Zellweger) prepares to give birth, the hilariously sassy Dr. Rawlings (Emma Thompson) tells both prospective fathers, Mark (Colin Firth) and Jack (Patrick Dempsey), "I'm not sure how much there is to gain from you two being at the coal face if I'm being honest. My ex-husband said it was like watching his favourite pub burn down, so your choice."
Ding ding ding. Thompson, who co-wrote the screenplay, gives herself the best gag of the movie and the series, an hysterically grim reminder of the realities of childbirth with a perfect analogy that just about any man can relate to. Brilliant.
