4. "His People" - Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman Chief
Warner Bros.

During the film's campfire scene, Diana speaks to Chief Napi, a smuggler and by far the most mysterious member of Steve Trevor's outfit.

She asks why he's taking part in the war, and he replies, "Nowhere better to be than in a war where you don't take a side. I have no where else. The last war took everything from my people. We have nothing left. At least here...I'm free."

Diana then asks who it was that took everything from his people, at which point he nods at Steve Trevor and adds, "His people."

It's a short, succinct line that realises the complexities of war, race and nationality in one fell swoop, adding some much-needed shade to a minority character while also giving the audience pause to question the notion of good and bad in a wartime scenario.
