20 Ludicrous Ways To Die In A Horror Film

10. Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead (Lloyd Kaufman, 2006)

Poultrygesit1 Need I say more? Poultrygeist is another horror-musical from the infinitely creative minds at Troma. It tells us a musical tale about a fast food chicken franchise that has been opened on top of an Indian burial ground in Tromaville, despite daily protests and picket lines. There's plenty of tits, ass and offensiveness to go around in this gem. But the plot boils down to angry native spirits infecting the chain's chicken supply, so that when the tainted chicken is served, whoever eats it becomes a human-chicken zombie hybrid. To appease the protesters, the Colonel Sanders-like owner of the franchise shows up to eat the chicken and show everyone that everything is all good- even offering free tainted chicken to the protesters. When the Colonel mows down on an infected piece of chicken for the TV cameras, he is forced to run to the bathroom, where he sh**s out a giant egg that hatches a monster chicken which subsequently attacks and kills him, turning him into one of those human-chicken zombies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS09HnWFQjI Chicken-Zombie-Colonel then turns his anger toward and attacks the sole remaining living member of the staff (who is also fending off hoards off protesters turned human-chicken zombies, as well). An epic battle ensues, but the mighty fast food worker manages to slay the feral beast, releasing the curse and saving the day. Making all safe in Tromaville, at least for another day.

I'm also an anarcho-punk fan that rides a bike, enjoys going on hikes, and really likes fruit....a sort of hippy-punk hybrid, if you will. I graduated from Brock University with an Honours degree in Political Science and an unofficial minor in Film. I enjoy writing learning, reading and writing about politics, film, and punk related issues. I hit shows in TO pretty often and look forward to checking out new films at TIFF every September.
