While Tom Hiddleston was obviously excellent as Loki in both Thor movies, him taking on more of a supporting role in The Dark World meant we were left with the underwhelming Malekith as the sequel's main villain. Thor: Ragnarok needs to shake things up then, especially if the God of Thunder is taking on a threat powerful enough to lead him to enlist The Hulk as backup. Hela, who is the daughter of Loki and the ruler of the Asgardian version of Hell (known as "Hel"), is a perfect choice then, and it just so happens that one recent rumour claims that this is who Cate Blanchett will be playing. That report claims that Hela will be teaming up with the God of Mischief in Thor: Ragnarok, wreaking intense havoc. That sounds great, and a powerful female villain like this is just what the franchise - and Marvel Cinematic Universe in general - needs. There's already some speculation that Hela could take over Death's role in Avengers: Infinity War as a love interest to Thanos, and if her involvement in this world moving forward is going to be that significant, this is one character who looks set to have a massive impact on Phase 3.
