20 Mind-Blowing Easter Eggs Hidden In Your Favorite Horror Films
12. The Necronomicon Shows Up In Jason Goes To Hell
As yet another little hint that these horror franchises might be taking place in the same universe, there's a crossover between The Evil Dead and Friday the 13th in Jason Goes To Hell.
When Duke visits the Voorhees house, he sees something that looks an awful lot like the Necronomicon. He flips through it for a second before moving on, seemingly not that interested. This isn't exactly a hidden Easter egg, as the film draws attention to it, but what you might not have realized is that this isn't just similar looking evil book: it's the actual Necronomicon prop used during The Evil Dead.
Supposedly, Sam Raimi gave it to the Jason Goes To Hell team, which really pissed off the guy who made the original prop, Tom Sullivan, as he didn't get paid for the use of his work.
If that wasn't enough for you, that isn't even the only piece of horror history to be included in this sequence, as you can also see the crate from Creepshow in the basement of the Voorhees house. Try to wrap your brain around The Evil Dead, Friday the 13th and Creepshow all combining forces in this one basement.
