18. Drew Barrymore Originally Had A Cameo (The Philosopher's Stone)

Here's one of the wackier things you never knew about the Harry Potter series. In the very first draft of the script for The Philosopher's Stone, Potter mega-fan Drew Barrymore had a cameo role that was eventually cut out of later drafts. Presumably she wasn't playing herself, but even so, who exactly could she have been playing? A new character, perhaps? As much as everyone loves Drew, she would have been enormously distracting in a Potter movie no matter how small the role, so this was probably for the best.
