In 2009, 10 year old cancer patient Colby Curtin desperately wanted to see the new Pixar film Up. But it became clear to her mom that Colby didn't have much longer, and she was too sick to make it to the theaters to see the movie.

So Pixar flew an employee to visit Colby personally with a DVD copy of Up, which was only playing in theaters at the time. The studio also sent over stuffed animals and merchandise from the film, including an adventure scrapbook as seen in the film. Colby wasn't able to open her eyes, but her mother described the movie scene by scene to her. She passed away later that night.
