20 Most Anticipated 2017 Movies

What Is It? Spidey's back. Following on from his scuffle with the Avengers in Civil War, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is back in Queens to attend school by day and fight crime (and, eventually, Michael Keaton's Vulture) by night. The third Spider-Man franchise of the century (being shepherded by Jon Watts), this one's pitching itself on its youthfulness, with a greater focus on Peter's teenage tribulations.

When's It Out? 7th July

Why Will It Be Awesome? A couple of years ago the prospect of a new Spider-Man would have excited only Andrew Garfield's agent, but after Sony agreed to share with Marvel and Tom Holland showed he can bring the goods as the web-slinger in Civil War, everyone's back on board. The movie seems to pitch itself perfectly to atone for The Amazing series, and Watts is proven working with kids in Cop Car. The most anticipated superhero movie of 2017 for sure.

Any Concerns? While Marvel are co-producers (and reportedly taking a major creative role), this is still a Sony joint and there's a risk that they could repeat any number of the problems that have plagued Spider-Man for the past decade.
