13. Horns (2014)

This film might not be a straight out horror like many on this list but it is an R-Rated movie from Alexandre Aja, the man who gave us Haute Tension, The Hills Have Eyes and the under-rated Maniac remake. Also, Daniel Radcliffe is turning into a bit of a fan of this genre after The Woman In Black and the forthcoming Victor Frankenstein. Based on Joe Hills book of the same name, this follows Ig Perrish, the number one suspect in the rape and murder of his girlfriend Merrin, played by Juno Temple. One morning, after a particularly drunken night out, Ig awakes to find a pair of horns beginning to grow on his head and soon discovers that their power comes in making people confess their sins, which moves Ig forward in trying to find the murderer of Merrin and exact a bloody revenge. The initial reviews havent been as strong as some of Aja or Radcliffes earlier work but many have said that the film gets very dark towards the end and some say the contributions from both director and star are the reasons to see this warped movie. This might not be a smash along the lines of The Woman In Black but Radcliffes maturing fan-base will probably make this one a minor hit if nothing else.
