11. The Black Phone 2
The Black Phone, which was written by Stephen King's son, Joe Hill, centres around Finney, a young boy locked inside a basement by child murderer the Grabber (Ethan Hawke). Soon after, Finney starts receiving calls from a disconnected phone from the Grabber's previous victims, who advise the boy how to escape.
The Black Phone was a wowing success due to its imaginative premise, focus on atmosphere, and sensational performances - especially from Hawke - but even though Scott Derrickson's supernatural flick was a triumph, it felt like a one-and-done story. However, after dominating the box office, it was decided to turn The Black Phone into a franchise. Not only will the follow-up see the return of Derrickson and head writer C. Robert Cargill, Ethan Hawke will reprise his role, too.
Considering The Black Phone concluded with the Grabber's death, it's unclear how he'll be brought back. Since the masked maniac's origins are a mystery, the follow-up could be a prequel. Alternatively, the Grabber could return as a ghost like his victims, allowing him to torment Finney from beyond the grave.
Whatever direction The Black Phone 2 takes, it's sure to be a blast.
