Any streaming platform would kill to have George Clooney under their wing, and he'll serve as both director and star of this adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton's 2016 sci-fi novel Good Morning, Midnight.

Clooney plays Augustine, a lonely scientist residing in the Arctic in the midst of a global apocalypse, who attempts to prevent astronaut Sully (Felicity Jones) and her colleagues from returning to Earth.

In addition to Clooney and Jones, the cast is stacked, including Kyle Chandler, David Oyelowo, and Demián Bichir, while the script has been written by Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Overlord).

With near-universally praised source material and so much talent aboard, this could be one of Netflix's sneaky smash hits by year's end.
