20 Most Controversially Violent Films Ever Made

6. Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood (1985)

Guinea.Pig.2-Flowers.Of.Flesh.And.Blood.avi_000584039 The Guinea pig films are a series of Japanese gore/torture/slasher films that were made in the 1980s and 1990s. This film - Flower of Flesh and Blood is probably the most notorious and has often been mistaken as a snuff film. The most famous instance of this was when Charlie Sheen viewed a copy and was so horrified, he contacted the FBI. Indeed, the Japanese authorities gave the makers of the film a damn good questioning and they were hauled into court to prove that it was all special effects. The 'plot' of Flower of Flesh and Blood is minimal. A man dressed as a Samurai Kidnaps and drugs a woman. He then proceeds to dismember her until she is broken down into little bits. Without any plot or artistic merit, Flower of Flesh and Blood just stands as a gruesome piece of unrestrained sadism. I would be very concerned for people who say they enjoy this film and I am no prude, I own a couple of films in the Guinea Pig series. Tasteless rubbish.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
