20 Most Disappointing Movies of 2025

Gareth Evans is one of the most intriguing action filmmakers to emerge over the last 15 years, and when it was revealed that The Raid director would next be working on a crime thriller with Tom Hardy of all people, it seemed like a note-perfect pairing.

And while Havoc does deliver a few diverting set-pieces - though certainly not that nauseatingly CGI-soaked opening car chase - it all feels decidedly sleepier and less energetic than The Raid movies, while saddled with a threadbare plot and piecemeal characters you won't ever care about.

This in turn stifles the performances of a game cast, especially Timothy Olyphant and Forest Whitaker, both of whom are criminally wasted here.

And even if you can switch your brain off throughout the dialogue, the action just isn't enough to save it.

Hopefully Evans will rebound with his already-shot next film, A Colt Is My Passport, because this was one of the biggest letdowns of the decade so far.
