One of the most enduring fictional serial killers of all time is Hannibal Lecter, created by the novelist Thomas Harris but brought to life in style on the big screen by the great Anthony Hopkins. His keen intelligence and surgical knowledge make him a truly formidable villain. Hannibal Lecter's appeal lies in his relatable values - often his victims are boorish, self-centred and lacking in manners. One such character is Paul Krendler (played by Ray Liotta), whom Lecter decides to serve up one last delicacy before bringing his life to an end. Krendler is drugged and seated at the dinner table before Lecter removes the top of his head and begins to cook parts of it right before his eyes.
