Like the Final Destination franchise, the Resident Evil series deteriorated in quality with each new release and feels more like a reliable cash cow for husband and wife team of director Paul W. S. Anderson and star Milla Jovovich than anything else. Even though the first installment failed to make the most of the spooky old mansion which featured heavily in the game, the Umbrella underground base is certainly not without its perils, not least on account of its cutting edge (if you'll forgive the foreshadowing pun) security system. In one bloodthirsty scene the Red Queen activates the laser defense system as our heroes try to penetrate the mainframe.
