6. Grotesque (2009)

The Plot: A doctor kidnaps a young couple and tortures them for his own apparent satisfaction. Why It's Disturbing: Grotesque just might be the ultimate torture porn movie, because it's not really much more than a series of extremely brutal torture sessions. The most savage moments include the man being stabbed with a screwdriver, having an eyeball popped out, having nails hammered through his testicles, being castrated and having his intestines removed, while the woman has her nipples removed and an arm sliced off. Both victims are also sexually abused, just to make matters worse. The movie ended up banned in the UK (much to director Kôji Shiraishi's delight), and it's tough to imagine any entry into the torture porn genre being more sadistic. Even veterans are sure to leave this one queasy and exhausted, because it pulls no punches and makes most Western torture porn movies look like Pee Wee's Playhouse by comparison.
