Release Date: June 3, 2016 Wait, wait! Before you deride this list of hotly-anticipated sequels on account of it featuring a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, consider for a second that the follow-up to the otherwise awful initial installment in Michael Bay's nightmarish reboot appears to be at least attempting to rewrite all the wrongs committed by that first picture. Which is to say, Out of the Shadows - according to the trailer, anyway - looks to be embracing the fun of the Turtles franchise, swapping out Bay's bombastic tendencies in favour of a hijinks and silly gags and more fan service than you can shake a nostalgia stick at. That's a surefire step in the right direction, no matter which way you look at it. No, this won't be a masterpiece, and it probably won't convince anyone who hated the first movie to love the franchise, but for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans - of which there are many - Out of the Shadows looks to be tapping into what made the franchise so great all those years ago. Wouldn't it be nice if this turned out to be even relatively enjoyable?
