20 Most Influential Actors Of All Time
7. Jane Fonda
During her many years as a leading lady, the seemingly ageless Jane Fonda has starred in some of the most revolutionary and well received movies in cinema, from Cat Ballou, to Barefoot in the Park, to They Shoot Horses, Don't They? and Julia. The winner of two Academy Awards, Fonda has made a name as a leading Hollywood figure, a proud political activist and a strong and fiercely passionate performer.
Active since the '60s, Fonda seems to be a leading presence in movies regardless of which decade you're talking about. Beginning her career in 1960 comedy Tall Girl, and from there went from strength to strength. Her role in the crime thriller Klute, which won her one of her two Oscars, is perhaps her most revered, but roles in Barbarella, the original Fun with Dick and Jane, and California Suite are equally masterful.
When an actor is around for long as Fonda, it is impossible to question their influence. An early performer in the New Hollywood scene, she can be considered one of the primary figures of classic Hollywood; an actress who has proved time and time again that is ranked amongst the best of them.
Thanks to her recent role in the Netflix show Grace and Frankie, it seems as this influence and popularity will spread to a whole new generation of future stars and film-makers.
