20 Most Repellant Movies Ever Made

9. Grotesque (2009)

Unsna Obnoxious torture porn from our Nippon friends, Grotesque has the dubious distinction of being banned in the UK because it is so nasty to the bone, the censors can't do anything to mitigate the unpleasantness of the film. A pair of young sweethearts - Aki and Kazuo - are kidnapped by a mad doctor who submits them to all sorts of degradation and hideous sadism. Then they die. And that is the story folks. But during the film we are treated to the rape of both Aki and Kazuo, disembowelment, chainsaw action, decapitation. The film is the grand daddy of torture porn movies and makes Saw and Hostel look like episodes of the Flintstones. The British censors reused to issue an 18 certificate to Grotesque due to its lack of storyline or artistic merit. Even Human Centipede 2 had more plot! I would go so far as to call Grotesque a thoroughly revolting movie with no plausible reason for being in existence except for the viewer to watch repellant acts of sadism.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
