20 Most Rewatchable Horror Movies Of All Time

17. Shaun Of The Dead (2004)

The Shining Jack Nicholson
Universal

Within the realm of the horror comedy genre, it is very difficult to get the blend just right. A lot of movies which have attempted this type of story have either lacked in humour or have displayed some cheesy attempts at being scary (which ironically then plays out as comical).

It is no issue for Shaun of the Dead, the first of Edgar Wright’s cornetto trilogy, which is utterly hilarious but also doesn’t hold back on its imagery of a life-threatening zombie apocalypse. Its two leads, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, are true to form as they have excellent comical timing for the laid-back characters Shaun and Ed.

Shaun of the Dead is a satirical parody but even then, it has a thoroughly engaging plot which even those who aren’t keen on the horror genre can enjoy. It is endlessly quotable, laugh-out-loud with an exhilarating climax.
